Scoreapalooza - Year end 2010 Edition

Here you are.  Lots of games over the next two weeks for things to change up.

A look at MV’s Out of Conference Opponents...Multi-tasking while watching the bowl games….

Here’s how our opponents outside the TAAC are doing so far this year. Not many individual or team statistics available at the moment; I was able to find team stats for the Midland Athletic Conference (Bettsville and North Baltimore) through December 25.

Fayette

The one point loss against MV in the opener set a tough tone for the Eagles, who are 0-5 (0-2 in the Buckeye Border Conference). Fayette has lost their games by an average of five points per game.

Monclova Christian

The Thunder is 2-4, which includes losses to MV and Emmanuel Christian. MCC’s best win was a 54-38 victory on December 21, 2010 against 4-3 Lima Temple Christian.

Toledo Central Catholic

Central is 4-1, rolling in their four wins by an average of 32.5 points. Their only loss was to state football semi-finalist Whitmer, 48-40. Central’s next two games are key to their City League hopes, traveling to St. Francis, then a huge game at home January 13 against St. John’s.

Liberty Center

The Tigers are MV’s next out-of-conference opponent. They sit at 3-3, 1-1 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League. All three losses have come to teams with winning records.

Bettsville

Bettsville is 2-4, 0-2 in the Midland Athletic League. They own a 54-45 win at TAAC member Danbury. Bettsville is averaging 50 points per game but allowing 55. They surrender 19.3 turnovers per game. They may have some issues with foul trouble, since they have allowed their opponents a league high 110 free throw attempts in five games.

North Baltimore

The Tigers are in a rebuilding year, losing four of five starters last year to graduation. They are 2-5, 1-1 in the Midland Athletic League. NB is last in team defense in the MAL, giving up an average of 61.2 points again. The Tigers’ opponents have had 268 two point attempts through 12.25.10, scoring at a 47% clip. On offense, North Baltimore averages 45.8 per game, including a respectable 31% success rate on three point tries.

North Central

The Eagles are 3-3 and 2-0 in their league. They just came off two losses at the Defiance College Holiday Tournament against tough competition. The lost by 25 to Division 3 and 6-1 Tinora then dropped a 59-58 heartbreaker against Division 2 Wauseon. North Central is likely the toughest remaining OOC opponent the Hawks will face this year before the playoffs.
