A cast of thousands and some bad grammar on the questions by your HawkBlogger. Such is the confusion that occurs during a championship celebration.

Maumee Valley 74 - Northwood 43 - quick summary
Maumee Valley earned its first TAAC championship in ten years Friday night at Northwood, defeating the Rangers 74-43. It was a microcosm of the entire season, as MV conbined strong defense, three point shooting, a strong inside game and accurate free throw shooting to overwhelm the home team.
Julius Turner was all over the floor during the evening and the line score showed it, 8 two pointers, 3 three pointers and 5-7 for the line - that's 30 for those of you keeping score at home. Julius scored 9 of the Hawks 11 second quarter points.
Rick Deichert had 6 three point plays - 5 from beyond the arc and an old fashioned basket plus foul for 18 points. Jared Sturt scored 14 points including two big dunks down the road.
In a statistical anomily, all other scorers for MV had 2 points each - Dave Brown, Dixon Stoddard, Jonathan Krueger, Solomon Collins and Lucas Isaza (the last two with their first varsity points).
Coach Jim Robinson now has won championships in five different leagues - Cincinnati, Lima, Toledo NLL, SLL and now the TAAC.

MV 7th Grade Boys 38 - TC 29 at Northwood 1.31.11 - TAAC Champs!
Maumee Valley brought home the hardware Monday January 31, 2011 as the seventh grade boys defeated Toledo Christian 38-29 at Northwood Middle School.
Game starters: Jalen Daoust (Class of '16), Gabe Kynard ('16), Jack Herrmann ('16), Bennett Miller ('16) and Ricky Lightner ('16).
MV played man defense the entire game; TC played its standard 1-3-1. If TC had a nursery for newborns, they'd arrange the cribs in a 1-3-1 formation.
The Hawks started slowly, as TC build an early lead, but the Hawks came back with tough defense and tied the score at the half 14-14.
In the third quarter, strong outside shooting by the Eagles led them to a 21-18 lead. But MV scored the next 10 straight points to go ahead 28-21. It would have stayed that way, but one of the Eagles made a three pointer from NBA range to cut the lead to four points.
The Blue and White would not fade, however and pounded the ball inside with both the half court offense and fast break points.
Maumee Valley pulled away in the fourth, outscoring TC 10-5. The trophy was theirs.
Congratulations to coach Craig Clark and the TAAC Champion 7th grade boys basketball team.
