MV played man defense the entire game; TC played its standard 1-3-1. If TC had a nursery for newborns, they'd arrange the cribs in a 1-3-1 formation.
The Hawks started slowly, as TC build an early lead, but the Hawks came back with tough defense and tied the score at the half 14-14.
In the third quarter, strong outside shooting by the Eagles led them to a 21-18 lead. But MV scored the next 10 straight points to go ahead 28-21. It would have stayed that way, but one of the Eagles made a three pointer from NBA range to cut the lead to four points.
The Blue and White would not fade, however and pounded the ball inside with both the half court offense and fast break points.
Maumee Valley pulled away in the fourth, outscoring TC 10-5. The trophy was theirs.
