First round game summary:
The Hawks dominated play tonight (January 6) on the Marblehead peninsula, smothering the Lakers 14-3 in the first quarter and pressuring their opponents effectively throughout the evening.
The Hawks featured balanced scoring in their 22 point victory. Rick Deichert led MV with 10, followed closely by Dave Brown with 9, Jonathan Krueger with 8, Julius Turner with 7, Jared Sturt with 5, Dixon Stoddard with 4, Daniel Brandon with 2 and tonight’s latest Scoreapalooza entrant Nick Frasco with 2 from the free throw line. Both shots were so pure that neither one touched the rim.
Update
Danbury has hit a rough patch since their game against the Hawks, dropping six of seven contests. Most recently, the Lakers dropped a 51-49 decision at Cardinal Stritch. They stand at 4-11 overall, 2-6 in the TAAC.
Statistically, Danbury's leading scorer and rebounder is 6'4" Hunter Stevens, averaging 10.6 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
