TC Round 2 - game preview

Let's start out with these words of wisdom.

Toledo Christian travels down the Anthony Wayne Trail tomorrow evening to face the Hawks, in a big game at the Varsity Gym.  The Eagles are 8-4, and 6-2 in the TAAC.  They are riding a six game win streak and are only one game back of first place.  If the Eagles win tomorrow at MV then next Tuesday home vs. Gibsonburg, they force a three way tie for first in the TAAC.

And you know that's how they're looking at things.  Their fans are rejuvenated and ready to cheer their team down the stretch run.

In the first game, Maumee Valley held a 10 point lead at the soon to be abandoned TC gym and watched it leak away in the fourth quarter.  The Hawks held on at the end to win by one point 43-42.

TC featuers the league's leading scorer, Eric Cellier, a 6'2" guard who averages 20.6 ppg and Josh Winzler, who contributes 11.7 per game.  The Eagles have only one rebounder among the league leaders, Ben Ivan, who grabs an average 5.7 rebounds per game.

Make no mistake, there can be no letdown against TC.  Coach McWhinnie is very successful at the Varsity Gym and there will be much jockeying for playoff position as the season enters its final third.
