From Hawkblog Special Correspondent Portia Ash.
The boys’ JV hosted the Emmanuel Christian Warriors on Tuesday in their 3rd league game and beat the Warriors 46 – 23. The game was filled with good offensive spurts and periods of solid defense by the Hawks as they maintained a lead throughout the game.
The Hawks delivered balanced scoring and really good outside shooting by a variety of Hawks, including Haithem Maaieh and Grant MacPherson who each nailed two three pointers from deep when the opportunities where there. Izzy Okeke, Rashaan Preston and Marcus Knabbs each helped the Hawks with great work in the paint and good penetration to the basket delivering, 8, 4 and 4 points respectively for the Hawks. Collins, Hazimah and King all had very good offensive contributions as well for the Hawks.
We again were able to see a few rotations for the Hawks with all of the Hawks seeing action in the game. With this win over Emmanuel Christian, the Hawks advance to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the TAAC. Go Hawks!
Up next the Hawks will participate in the Alumni Hoops Holiday Tournament and then face the Central Catholic Fighting Irish just after Christmas.
Scoring: Collins 8, Okeke 8, Hazimah 6, MacPherson 6, Maaieh 6, Knabbs 4, King 4, Preston 4
