MVCDS boys' JV faced the Monclova Christian Thunder on the hardwood Tuesday in what was a fairly straight forward game. The Hawks beat the Thunder 40-18.
The Hawks went up 15-0 on the Thunder in the first quarter and never looked back. Starters included guards AJ King and Danny Hazimah, forwards Solomon Collins and Thad Woodard, and center Izzy Okeke.
At halftime, the Hawks were up 23-9, as the Thunder begins to hit a stride in the second quarter. As in the season opener, every member of the JV team again saw action in the game and we were able to see a few different rotations on the floor for the Hawks throughout the game.
The Hawks welcomed back guard Ahmed Khalil from his participation in the Model UN, Khalil finished the game with 2 points.
Overall the coaches, players and the Hawks fans were pleased with the performance of the Hawks and their graciousness in victory. Up next, the Hawks face Toledo Christian in their first TAAC game.
Scoring: Collins 11, King 11, Woodard 8, Hazimah 4, Khalil 2, Knabbs 2, Okeke 2
