Game 2 – MV 58 – Toledo Waite 45
Toledo Waite is a D-II school playing in the Toledo City League. The Indians went 6-13 last year. The lost a number of starters and are in rebuilding mode.
The Hawks shook off their first-game loss to Woodward and cruised to a 13 point victory in the CCHS league nightcap. MV surged to a seven point lead in the first 10 minutes and stayed ahead all game.
The Hawks took advantage of their superior height, as Jared Sturt and Dixon Stoddard (celebrating his 18th birthday) scored 31 of their team’s 58 points. Jared was especially dominant underneath, hitting for 21 points including three dunks. Rick Deichert recovered from a rare blanking in the first game to score 10.
