Boys' JV Beats Danbury Lakers, Advance to 6-1

By Hawkblog Special Correspondent Portia Ash

The Hawks returned to action on Thursday after the holiday break with league game against the Danbury Lakers. The Hawks beat the Lakers 45 to 18 with solid defense that led to fast break opportunities, pretty good execution of their offense and solid play across the team.

Can I just mention that Danbury is quite the drive in snowy conditions!

The Hawks maintained a solid lead throughout the game and executed fairly well down the stretch. We were treated to a few really good offensive sequences including one in which Marcus Knabbs penetrated down the middle of the defense and made a nice floater in the middle of the lane. For a basketball fan, that was a beauty.

Up next (which is today, I'm a little late with my blog entry) the Hawks face Liberty Center High School.

Scoring - King 12, Hazimah 9, Collins 8, Knabbs 4, Okeke 4, Khalil 3, Woodard 3, Preston 2
