Danbury girls 38 – MV 13 – 1.7.11 at MV

Starting five: Delaney Lonsway (‘12), Jazmine Aldridge-Brownlee (‘12), Genna Danes (‘12), Wesley Flaum (‘12) and Cammie Lonsway (’14)

Maumee Valley fell to the visiting Lakers Friday evening at the Varsity Gym 38-13. MV was missing Kristin Bigelow, who sat out the game with concussion-like symptoms.

One thing though about not having your most experienced player available is that everyone else gets valuable experience having to put the ball in play. Karla Luketic, Cammie Lonsway and Jordan Baker filled in for Kristin on the night.

The Hawks fell behind early and never recovered, hampered by the Danbury press early. But like many games this season, once MV got a feel for the game, play evened out.

Genna Danes led the scoring for MV last evening with 7 points. Delaney Lonsway scored 4 and Jasmine Aldridge-Brownlee added 2. Everyone on the team saw action Friday night.

Here are your Hawkblog video highlights:

Jasmine Aldridge-Brownlee for two

Genna Danes with a putback following a missed free throw.

No scoring on this video, but good hustle by Delaney to fight for a loose ball.

A nice cut to the basket by Delaney and strong look-in pass by Genna to find her for the deuce.
