Opening Night Tomorrow Baby, It's Gonna Be Awesome!!!! - Fayette preview

I couldn't get the actual Dickie V to come to the game, but here he is..,

And here is your Fayette preview.

Fast facts
Opponent: Gorham Fayette
Enrollment (9-12): 212
Division/League: D-4 / Buckeye Border Conference
Team Nickname: Eagles

Best of class...facilities.  The new Fayette High School was just opened two years ago and is a beautiful building.  Note that if your GPS is more than two years old, you may be directed (as several of us were in 2008) to the old HS on the north side of town.

HEAD COACH:
Todd Mitchell (6th year, 73-120)
2009-10 RECORD: 8-13 overall, 4-6 Buckeye Border Conference.

RETURNING LETTERWINNERS / 09-10 Stats: Tyler Keefer, 6-2, sr., F, 13.6 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 1.1 apg; Darrell Randall, 6-3, sr., F, 10.7 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 1.0 apg; Trevor Cox, 6-0, jr., G, 10.2 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 0.8 apg; Zayne Colegrove, 5-9, soph., G, 3.4 ppg, 1.7 rpg, 1.1 apg; Hunter Colegrove, 5-11, sr., F; Nelson Barnhiser, 5-7, sr., G

OTHER PROSPECTS: Cole Burkholder, 6-1, soph; Dakota Brooks, 5-11, sr; Jerry Minzey, 5-6, jr; Kevin Ferguson, 5-10, soph; Chase Hookstadt, 5-10, sr.

NOTES: The Eagles will return six letter winners from last season. With four seniors, a junior and a sophomore this team should have plenty of leadership and a successful season.

Last year’s result – Fayette defeated the Hawks 41-36. Maumee Valley had the lead in the fourth quarter but could not hold on for the win.

Impressions - Fayette always seems to have 8-10 guys who are between 5'-10" and 6'-2" and can run, shoot and rebound.  They are in top condition, love to press and caused the Hawks fits two years ago at their place.   MV will need to keep their wits about them to start 1-0 in a hostile setting.

Go Hawks - Beat those Eagles!
